Digital Solution for Education in Africa

Botswana P1 Developing digital and project management skills with the Team Challenge Experience The Botswana-based non-profit organisation Destination Imagination (DI) wants to prepare young learners for the future by teaching them vital life and career skills for the 21st century. With a blend of online and in-person training, the project called Team Challenge Experience (TCE) built a community of young adults equipped with the necessary digital skills to use online tools for organisation and project management. Project implemented in this area In a tournament, participants collaborated in groups on solving real-life, hands-on challenges and developed their skills by working with core curriculum content. To develop digital skills, participants worked on projects based on STEAM subjects (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) and were provided with the necessary mate- rials, internet data, and software. TCE facilitators received training and follow-up support to guide the students. The aim of Destination Imagination is to continue and expand the initiative to all regions in Botswana. Gaborone 85 education professionals reached by the measure 567 learners (91 teams) completed the program 27 facilitators were trained – 18 – Digital Solutions for Education in Africa
